Make This Smoothie Your Best Friend

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a good smoothie that’s packed with a lot of nutrients.

Smoothies are great because they’re easy to make, they’re super healthy if you’re using the right foods in them, and they allow you to get your necessary nutrients you need for your day. Also, you can add basically any sort of powder into them.

You’re probably wondering what I mean when I’m referring to powder. Well, what I’m referring to is vegan protein powder, maca powder, hemp powder, ginger powder, turmeric powder, spirit dust, pearl powder, just to name a few.

I know, it seems like a lot, and you’re probably wondering what each of these powders do.

& this is why we are here today- I am going to share my go-to smoothie as of lately!

Fruits » 1-2 bananas, handful of berries

Veggies » Spinach (if I have it)

It’s always a great idea to incorporate greens into your smoothie because a lot of people don’t eat them enough throughout their day, especially me.

Powders » Vegan protein powder, maca powder, pearl powder, spirit dust, & ginger powder

Liquids » Water

Water is the best to use because it doesn’t have any of the unnecessary sugars, carbs, or calories. I used to use unsweetened almond milk, but switched to water and loved it. I really stay away from apple juice, orange juice, and yogurt in my smoothies, because again, of the unnecessary sugar that’s in those.

If I’m being completely transparent with you, it’s not the best tasting thing, like it’s not an Orange Julius or a Maui Wowi. But I can promise you that it’s incredibly healthy for you! & if I can get Zach to drink one of these, then it can’t be that bad because he has a diet of a 13 year old boy.

Now onto those mysterious powders:

» The vegan protein powder is obvious, it’s how I get a portion of my protein in for the day. I just always make sure the ingredients in the protein powder are good, because companies like to sneak some nasty crap in protein powers that are not needed!

» Maca powder is high in protein, fiber, vitamin b & c, calcium, potassium, iron, copper, & manganese.

» Pearl powder helps heal acne and scars, is a good source of calcium, stimulates collagen production, & has anti-aging properties.

» Spirit dust is from Moon Juice. Moon Juice carries all sorts of different types of dusts. They have beauty dust, sex dust, power, dust, spirit dust, dream dust, & brain dust. Each dust has specific ingredients in them to provide the best outcome. For example, “Power Dust® is an adaptogenic blend of elite superherbs and supermushrooms that help combat the effects of stress to fuel your physical and entrepreneurial feats.*

Contains ingredients with proven benefits:

Boosts energy and reduces fatigue*

Helps restore and sustain energy levels*

Supports healthy cardiovascular function*” – Moon Juice website

» Ginger powder contains anti-inflammatory compounds, boosts your immune system, has germ-fighting abilities, and can alleviate menstrual cramps, nausea, exhaustion, & fatigue.

If you have any questions regarding any of these powders, just let me know!

Delightful Moments – Trying New Fall Recipes

Hi, hi, hi!

How’s your week so far? Hopefully going well!

It sure is chilly here in Denver, which means I’ve been whipping up some new Fall recipes that I’ve never tried! It’s always fun trying new recipes, especially when they taste so great. Also, before I forget, I found all of these recipes on Pinterest! I WISH I could think of these recipes on my own, but that’s not the case. Instead, I made them myself and decided to give them an honest review for you guys.

» The first recipe I tried was the Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats!

Here’s the thing, I’m not a big lover of oats, but I do realize that they’re extremely healthy for you. This recipe was actually very good for being oats, but I do think the recipe could use less cinnamon. The best thing about these oats is how convenient they are. You prepare them the night before, let them sit in the fridge overnight, and grab the jar of oats on your way out the door. You can also modify these oats, so instead of topping the oats with an apple, you can top the oats with a banana, berries, shredded coconut & almonds, or peanut butter & cacao nibs!

» The second recipe I tried was the Creamy Apple Cinnamon Smoothie!

I have an “apple” theme going for some reason. I guess I was really into trying new apple recipes when I was pinning all of these recipes on Pinterest! I really liked this smoothie. It was extremely filling due to the oats that are used, and that’s a good thing. I’m a big smoothie lover because I can add my vegan protein powder, maca powder, & pearl powder (will do a post on what all of these are for!). If you love apples, you will definitely love this smoothie! I don’t particularly love apples but I will eat them because of their benefits. This smoothie could also be made the night before so you can grab it on your way out the door. I like having smoothies for lunch, too. I’m not a big lunch person, so smoothies work perfectly for me because it’s not too much food.

» The third recipe I tried were the Pumpkin Waffles!

These pumpkin waffles were so good! They were extremely filling and they do take some time to make, so make them on a weekend morning when you don’t have to leave right away in the morning. The batch makes a lot of waffle batter, so these would be perfect to make if you’re having family or friends stay over on a weekend or over Thanksgiving!

» The last recipe I tried were the No-bake Maple Almond Butter Cookies!

These cookies are… interesting! They’re good but they are definitely interesting. It’s probably the “no-bake” aspect. These cookies are vegan, gluten free, whole grain, and dairy-free, which I seriously love because it’s almost like they’re healthy cookies! The recipe calls for a lot of maple syrup, I almost think too much maple syrup but they are still tasty even being vegan and dairy-free. These cookies take no time to make, literally like ten minutes, so that’s always super convenient!

Let me know if you like these posts where I try different recipes from Pinterest and then review them for you! If so, I can definitely do more of them.

Thanks for reading, and happy Fall!

The Easiest Pumpkin Spice Latte

Hey, hey, HAPPY Tuesday!

So I’ve really been craving coffee lately, like everyday I need my coffee fix. It’s something I don’t really prefer to crave but it’s damn good so we’re just going to stick with it. I blame my mom because she got me a Keurig for my birthday!

Anyways, I was at the store in the coffee aisle last week and saw overly priced “Starbucks Via Instant Latte” – Pumpkin Spice Latte flavor, and I was immediately intrigued so I put them in the cart! There are only like four packets in the package and they’re totally overpriced, but I figured it’s just a one time buy and I’ll conserve the packets throughout the entire Fall season. Because if I’m being honest, there’s way too much sugar in these little boogers to have every day or even every other day. I’m also not crazy about the ingredients- the first ingredient is diary powder (I think I just gagged even typing that out). If you know me, you know I really am not a huge fan of dairy, especially milk.

I’m sure you get it by now, but just in case you don’t- not a fan of the ingredients or the amount of sugar that’s in these, BUT they taste so damn good and even though they’re expensive, it’s still cheaper than buying a single drink from Starbucks! Also, the pumpkin spice flavoring is seriously incredible, it’s not overwhelming at all, and I figured I needed to start getting into the Fall season because my mind is still 100% stuck in summer mode. Can you blame me, though? I love summer. I love sunshine. I love hot weather. I thrive the most in the summer, but seasons evolve so I need to, too.

I almost forgot! The main reason I love these packets is because of how efficient they are. All you have to do is heat up some water on the stove for roughly five minutes, pour the water into a cute water bottle or mason jar, and then pour the latte packet into your cup! It’s literally as simple as that. I do add a dash of coconut milk creamer to give it some flavor, but you do NOT need to add any sugar to these.

See? I told you, the easiest Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Now, go live a little and buy these super efficient packets. And remember, don’t use them daily! Treat them as a little dessert but for in the mornings.

Talk soon!
