Puppy Chow, Halloween Style

How’s life going for you? I hope great, and I mean that sincerely!

Life is hard. Really hard. Like so hard that most days I wish I could just sleep and not have to deal with the real world. It’s tough being a full-time student and working two jobs. It is physically draining, but that’s life. Life isn’t supposed to be all rainbows and sunshine, life is going to throw hard days/times at you. & let me tell you, this is a hard time for me. But I have no choice other than to push through the hard time and keep moving forward, because where is it going to get me if I dwell on everything bad that’s happening? It’s literally going to get me nowhere. Yeah, I got stranded on my campus last night at 9:30 at night because my car wouldn’t start, so I don’t have a working car at the moment. I bust my ass every single day to do good in school. I work over 40 hours a week just so I can pay for my expenses. & I have an immense amount of debt I’ve incurred over the past four years due to loans. But you know what? I can’t dwell on any of that anymore, because dwelling on it has only made me feel worse. It hasn’t helped me one bit. I will overcome any obstacle that life throws at me because that’s who I am. Anyone can overcome any obstacle they face if they just believe that they can.

Also, things could ALWAYS be worse. Remember that.

Sorry, I got a little off subject! Let’s talk about what I made last weekend:

Actually there’s a really funny story behind this.

About a month ago, Zach told me that he wanted to make Puppy Chow. I thought he was so weird for wanting to make Puppy Chow because it’s totally something I only ate during the Christmas holiday. I was like, “babe, why would you make puppy chow? It’s not Christmas.” He goes, “fine, when I make some then you don’t need to have any.” Well, I came home later that day to him eating puppy chow he had made, and all I could think was how am I going to sneak this puppy chow without him seeing, because otherwise he will give me so much shit for eating it. I couldn’t’ help myself, it looked SO GOOD. HAHAHA, typical Aub.

So last week rolls around, and I’m like I want to make some Puppy Chow. Then I thought I could maybe do a blog post on it. & THEN I thought how perfect it would be if I threw a little Halloween twist on to it.

Ingredients Needed:

+ Chex Mix Cereal

+ All Natural Peanut Butter

+ Organic Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

+ Dash of Vanilla

+ Lots of powdered sugar

+ Peanut Butter Reese’s Pieces

+ Mini Peanut Butter Cups

(The Chex Mix Cereal has the measurements needed for the ingredients and the steps to follow when making the Puppy Chow. It’s super simple!)

It’s the perfect little snack to munch on when doing homework or watching TV. Just eat it in moderation, don’t eat the whole bag in one sitting like I did. Just pour it into a little serving bowl and munch on that! It would also be a great christmas gift for coworkers or friends. All you would have to do is put a little Christmas spin on it. Instead of using Peanut Butter Reese’s Pieces, you could use the Christmas M&M’s that are red, white, and green. Put the Puppy Chow in a cute little mason jar and tie a red ribbon around it. Super easy, super cheap, and super festive!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I think I’ll be hitting up a haunted house this weekend, YAY.

We’ll talk soon!

& that fashion post should be up next week!!

The Best Damn Pumpkin Spice Drink

Happy October!!

Love the month of October, but everyone already knows that.

Today I’ll be sharing with you the best damn pumpkin spice vegan drink. It’s totally festive & the perfect warm drink to sip on while curled up on the couch having a lazy Sunday. While you’re at it, you might as well indulge in a little Halloween candy or something baked fresh, like cookies or banana bread. YUUUM. That really does sound like the perfect Sunday. Am I right?

Ingredients Needed:

Pumpkin Puree – Two tablespoons

+ Coconut Milk (Almond Milk could work too) – Two cups

+ Cinnamon – as much as you want

+ Stevia – one packet or less

+ Vegan Whipped Cream – as much as you want

+ Add everything but the whipped cream to a saucepan. Set the temperature to medium heat & stir the mixture until it looks smooth. Serve warm, & top it with whipped cream & cinnamon.

So easy, right? It’s so good, too! & it’s not filled with any nasty ingredients that aren’t good for you. Double win in my book.

What else would you guys like to see? I’m really loving creating posts that have to do with the month of October and Fall. Thoughts?

I know I need to do a fashion post, like a little #ootd that’s focused around Fall fashion. It’s much overdue. I’ve never done a fashion post because I don’t have anyone to take the pictures for me, but that’s going to change. Zach, are you ready for a day of taking pictures of me? HAHA.

OMG, who’s ready to binge watch Halloween movies??? HOCUS POCUS, WHERE YOU AT!?2xkladrk-jpg-large

That’s it for now, my little pumpkins. Have a great rest of your week!

Talk soon!!

OMG. Yogurt Greatness Coming at You.

It’s Sundaaaaay, and I’m currently watching the VMAs.

Like, YESSS. So excited for this shit!

Guess what was on Monday?

My first day back to school…….like HOW??? How does time go so fast? I remember being a kid and thinking a week for spring break seemed like it lasted forever. Why can’t that still be the case? & why can’t nap time be on my schedule for in-between my classes like it was in Kindergarten? If you figure either of these things out, please let me know! LOL.

Today I’m going to share with you the SIMPLEST dessert/snack, it’s like almost funny.

If you have me on Snapchat, you’ll know what it is!!

(UN: AubriannaSuzann)

It’s yogurt. HA. Told you it was simple. But to be more specific, it’s yogurt that I sort of modified. I almost forgot, it’s HEALTHY!! You’re probably thinking, how could a dessert be healthy for me? Well, if you just keep on scrolling down, you’ll see the ingredients needed for this little concoction.

Organic Vanilla or Plain Yogurt

Cinnamon (optional)

Raspberries, Blueberries & Strawberries (or any other fruit)

All natural Dark Chocolate Chips (these are my fav)

For me, the simpler the ingredients are the better. I look for wholesome foods. I also always, always look at the ingredient list. The ingredients need to be natural, I need to be able to pronounce them & there can’t be a zillion of them. This little dessert/snack really is SO simple & SO healthy, but still SO good.

Also, cinnamon can make certain foods taste so much better. Adding cinnamon to yogurt gives the yogurt so much more flavor, because let’s be honest, plain yogurt sucks. BUT, artificial yogurt that’s filled a bunch of additives and preservatives sucks even more.

As for the Dark Chocolate Chips, they’re my absolute fav!! The best thing about them is that they’re dairy, nut & soy free, & they’re 69% Cacao. Cacao is the purest form of chocolate you can consume.  If you want to add Milk Chocolate Chips, that’s totally up to! I just really enjoy dark chocolate because it’s satisfies my sweet tooth and you don’t need a lot of them!

I hope everyone enjoyed this post, and let me know if you try out this recipe! I’d love to hear your thoughts on my modified yogurt.

Thanks so much for reading!! Comment below what you would like to see next!!
