Why hello you beautiful people ♥

I’m glad you stopped by because today we’re discussing my skincare routine & my favorite products (at the moment).

We all love & want great skincare but sometimes it’s hard to accomplish. Not only can skincare products be outrageously expensive, it’s also difficult to know which skincare product will work BEST for you. On top of that, there are like 2763517389 products that one can use. But do I want or need that many? No. No. & no. Of course I want an acne-free face that has that perfect glow to it, but isn’t too oily. Now if I were Kylie or Kendall Jenner then I’m good to go when it comes my face, but I’m not so I’ve gotta figure it out!

A little background about how I’ve tried to keep my skin looking as best as I could throughout the years:

♥ My mom always instilled in me the importance of taking care of my skin & that’s exactly what I did. I started washing & moisturizing my face before I even started to wear makeup. I strongly believe that was the main reason I was able to have a pretty clear face throughout my teenage years (THANKS MOM).

♥ In junior high & high school I was a huge Clean&Clear fan – I used their face wash, face scrubs, face moisturizers, zit creams, etc. At the time I loved their stuff. It was affordable & worked really well with my skin. But times have changed, lol.

♥ I did & still do wash my face twice a day. I’ll do a facial scrub the days I wear makeup, because I only wear makeup 2-3 times a week. I NEVER ever will leave makeup on when I sleep, it is seriously so bad for your skin. Not only is makeup bad to leave on, but you’re also leaving on all of the dirt & oils that accumulated on your face throughout the day, while you sleep – ewwwww. No thank you.

Now onto what I do NOW to keep my skin looking as best as possible:

♥ For one, SLEEP. I can’t stress this enough either. Sleeping is just too good for your skin & those bags under your eyes. Sleep, sleep, & sleep.

♥ WATER. I’m the biggest water lover ever. Anyone who knows me knows that I bring water everywhere. Literally everywhere, this isn’t a joke. I bring water to the grocery store because I’m always drinking it. Anytime I drive anywhere I need to bring water, even if it is just to get gas or go to the post office. I fill my 20 0z water bottle at least four times a day, along with the glasses I drink at night. Also, a little side note – once I started increasing my water intake my headaches stopped. I used to get a headache every day in high school & I just thought it was because I was my mother’s daughter (she suffers from terrible headaches. I tell her to drink more water, LOL!). I’d pop those ibuprofen tablets like nobodies business – yuck! Now if I get a headache I chug water & if it still isn’t gone then I know it’s a major one, so then I’ll take two ibuprofen tablets. Those headaches only happen like twice a month though!

Sunscreen. Sunscreen is your friend & will you save so much heartache (lol) when you’re older. You’ll save yourself from developing wrinkles, dark spots, sun damage, & maybe even skin cancer! & stay away from tanning beds, do spray tans instead! I was way too into tanning in high school, but that phase is so forgotten. I know everyone says being tan makes them feel confident & sometimes it helps with acne, but I say embrace your whiteness & that acne. It’s OKAY to be white & have a little acne. I promise it’s better than having skin cancer.

♥ Your diet. Not many people realize this, but if your diet is poor then you’re skin most likely is too. Some people are just lucky as ever and can eat whatever they want & still have a banging bod with a perfect complication. But that’s not the case for me, & that’s okay. I love that I eat healthy & my skin is a great indication of that. I’m definitely not saying my skin is perfect though!! I definitely have my bad days (weeks).

Rose Water & the moisturizer I use from Trader Joes!

♥ I always look for skincare products that are organic, cruelty free, paraben free, & as natural as possible. I really don’t believe that putting chemicals on your face is good for you, like Clean&Clear products. I get that products that are organic and natural are more expensive, but Amazon.com, Trader Joes, Urban Outfitters & Tj Maxx all have really good pricing for their skincare products!

Let’s talk about my routine, shall we?

The Mario Badescu Products – available on Amazon.com or Urban Outfitters

♥ In the mornings I use a gentle cleanser to wash my face, then I moisturizer, & sometimes I’ll do a spritz of Rose Water! I also put sunscreen on my neck, hands, & face if I’m not wearing makeup (come summertime sunscreen will go everywhere). & I put Coconut Sunscreen Chapstick on my lips.

♥ Before I go to bed I wash my face with a gentle cleanser & I moisturize. Now, if I’m wearing makeup I will take my make up off with Grapeseed Oil, then wash my face with a facial scrub & moisturize. After all of that I apply coconut oil to my lips & under eyes.

As for the 3 Little Wonders, I use these products for about a month, or until I run out, or my face isn’t doing too hot. The reason I do this is because my face reacts badly if I use the same face wash & moisturizer for too long. The 3 Little Wonders allow me to give my other cleansers a break.  These little guys are paraben, sulfate, & phthalate free! They also have like the BEST Truth Serum Collagen Booster, Brightening Moisturizing, & Invigorating Night Gel ♥. This little set really does wonders (LOL) for my face. If I’m breaking out really bad or feel like my face looks dull, I’ll use this set & it whips my face back into shape.

I totally get that everyone’s face is different, & what works for me may not work for you. I do promise though if you drink more water, get more sleep, stray away from the harsh chemical products, & eat healthier you’ll see a change in your skin (& your energy levels!). These are the products and steps that I have found that work best for me, as of now. I’m always switching things up though & seeing if I like other products better! If I do find other products that I find better, you’ll be the first to know ♥.

xoxo, Aubrianna
